About the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority

Established in 1971, the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) is overseen by a 14 member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Governor and a professional salaried staff that manages the various facilities. Its first mission was to construct and operate the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which includes Giants Stadium, Meadowlands Racetrack, and Continental Airlines Arena.

The Meadowlands Sports Complex is an international icon in the sports, racing and entertainment industries regularly attracting seven million patrons to over 600 annual events. Meadowlands Racetrack and Monmouth Park are the backbone of the state's billion-dollar equine industry.

NJSEA also owns and oversees the Atlantic City Convention Center and the historic Boardwalk Hall and now the Wildwoods Convention Center.

The Authority, by independent measure, has a $1.6 billion-dollar impact on the New Jersey economy and returns over $60 million in annual direct and indirect taxes to local and state government.
