A fun-filled family weekend of free and ticketed live concerts, celebrity entertainment, sports events and activities, outdoor festivals, fireworks, interactive experiences and Military a Procession/Remembrance Ceremony!
Event proceeds will benefit the Liberty United Service Organization (USO), the Vietnam Veterans of America (Chapter 955) and the National Military Family Association and and their programs supporting America’s military members, veterans, and their families.
- Coast Guard Recruit Graduation - More than 70 new military service members will graduate basic training and begin their military careers. This impressive and emotional military ceremony will be open to the public at the Wildwoods Convention Center Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m.
- Motorcycle Caravan - Motorcycle enthusiasts comprised of veterans representing Tri-State area motorcycle clubs will form a dramatic ‘drive-up’ caravan, leading to a moving memorial ceremony. (Friday Evening, May 25, 7 p.m.)
- Sunset Ceremony - More than 100 Coast Guardsmen will commemorate the service and sacrifice of all military members during a Sunset Ceremony including a firing party, a color guard and a bugler Friday, May 25 at sunset at Burk Avenue and the Boardwalk.
- Fireworks Display - The evening culminates with a free spectacular fireworks display. (Friday evening, May 25, 10 p.m.)
- The Ford Family Beach Games- Family & Celebrity Beach Action-fun, action-packed beach games featuring beach soccer matches, softball, Frisbee throw, treasure hunt and obstacle course action all day (Saturday, May 26, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
- The “Taste of Wildwoods” Food & Music Festival - Saturday, May 26, Noon – 9pm and Sunday, May 27, 11 a.m. – 3pm at Fox Park featuring the sights, sounds and flavors of many of the Wildwoods’ famous festivals. Plus live music performances and radio appearances.
- Celebration of Heroes’ Military Procession & Remembrance Ceremony - A Memorial Day procession of military service heroes, Veterans, celebrities and marching bands, including the Coast Guard Recruit Marching Band. Procession ends at the Wildwoods Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall (Columbus Park) where the Heroes Remembrance Ceremony and Air Force and Coast Guard “Fly Over” will take place following the procession (Sunday, May 27, 1pm)
- Celebration of Heroes Headliner Concert - A USO-style Variety Show - Starring former SNL star Joe Piscopo and his 17-piece Orchestra; Mr. Proud To Be An American himself, Grammy Winner Lee Greenwood; Michael Longoria, original cast member (Frankie Valli) of the hit Broadway Show The Jersey Boys; Miss America 2012 Laura Kaeppeler; and American Idol finalists Michael Sarver and Haley Scarnato at the Wildwoods Convention Center’s Oceanfront Arena. (Sunday, May 27, 8 PM)
