The Wildwoods is named one of Time.com's "50 Authentic American Experiences" and the Wildwoods Boardwalk is listed as one of the "Top 10 American Boardwalks" by Sherman's Travel

The Wildwoods, NJ - July 17, 2009 - The Wildwoods has received two major honors this past week from two of the country's most influential companies: Time.com and Sherman's Travel.

The Wildwoods was named one of Time.com's "50 Authentic American Experiences" for 2009. For this list, Time chose one location from each of the 50 states to be a part of the list. The Wildwoods was chosen not only for being one of New Jersey's most important musical sites, but for its one-of-a-kind boardwalk and its unique "doo-wop" ambiance.

Time.com is a part of Time Inc., publisher of Time Magazine. This is the second year for Time.com's "50 Authentic American Experiences" list.

The Wildwoods Boardwalk was listed as one of the nation's "Top 10 American Boardwalks" for 2009 by Sherman's Travel. The Wildwoods Boardwalk was added to Sherman's 2009 list for many reasons including its amusements piers, waterparks, tram cars and exceptional boardwalk food. But the primary reason the Wildwoods Boardwalk was added to this year's list is because it offers something for everyone in the family - from kids to adults.

Sherman's Travel is one of the country's leading publishers of top travel deals and destination advice.

"We are extremely proud of receiving these two honors. Being named one of the nation's Top 10 Boardwalks and 50 Authentic American Experiences says a lot about the Wildwoods and who we are and what we have to offer. It is a tribute to everyone who works hard to make the Wildwoods a premier family destination," says John Siciliano, Executive Director for the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority.
